Popular Questions and Solutions

This page answers the most common questions about SNAKOL SMD Component Tweezer Tester and its use in electronics diagnostics and repair.

SNAKOL SMD Component Tweezer Tester does not turn on

Problem:
The device does not power on or the screen stays blank.

Solutions:

  • Make sure the battery is charged
  • Connect the tester to a standard USB power source
  • Check that the power button is pressed correctly
  • Allow the device to charge for several minutes and try again

Measurement values look incorrect

Problem:
The displayed resistance, capacitance, inductance, or ESR values seem inaccurate.

Solutions:

  • Ensure the circuit is completely powered off
  • Clean the tweezer tips to remove oxidation or dirt
  • Avoid touching surrounding components during measurement
  • Remove the component from the board if in-circuit results are unstable

Cannot measure component on the PCB

Problem:
The tester cannot identify or measure a component on the board.

Solutions:

  • Make sure the board is not connected to power
  • Check for parallel components that may affect readings
  • Try measuring the component after desoldering
  • Use manual measurement mode if available

ESR measurement does not work

Problem:
The ESR value is missing or inconsistent.

Solutions:

  • Confirm that the selected component supports ESR testing
  • Discharge capacitors before measurement
  • Ensure firm contact with both tweezer tips
  • Switch measurement mode if manual selection is supported

Device reacts slowly or freezes

Problem:
The tester responds slowly or stops updating readings.

Solutions:

  • Restart the device
  • Recharge the battery fully
  • Avoid extremely cold or hot environments
  • Reset the device if supported by the model

Tweezer tips do not make stable contact

Problem:
Readings fluctuate due to unstable contact.

Solutions:

  • Apply gentle and steady pressure on the component
  • Align the tips carefully with SMD pads
  • Inspect tips for damage or contamination
  • Replace tips if the model supports interchangeable probes

Automatic component identification does not work

Problem:
The tester cannot identify the component automatically.

Solutions:

  • Switch to manual measurement mode
  • Ensure proper contact with the component terminals
  • Test the component outside the circuit
  • Refer to the user manual for supported component ranges

Tester cannot be used on live circuits

Problem:
The device does not function when the board is powered.

Solutions:

  • Always turn off power before testing
  • Fully discharge capacitors
  • Never use the tester on live or high-voltage circuits
  • Follow all safety instructions in the user manual

⚠️ Important

SNAKOL SMD Component Tweezer Testers are standalone electronic measuring tools and do not use mobile applications or wireless connections.
Always operate the device on powered-off circuits only.
Using the tester outside its intended measurement range or on live circuits may result in inaccurate readings or device damage.
